Great basic phone for the traveler May 26, 2010 I get off the plane in any European country (and lots of other places, but I haven't been there yet). I find the nearest place that carries SIMs from the local mobile carriers. I buy a pay-as-you-go SIM. I pop the SIM in the back of the phone, turn the phone on, and voila, I have a local phone number. No muss, no fuss. That's what I need, and that's what this phone delivers.
Bonus: fantastic battery life. One less thing to worry about when I'm far from home.

Does the job Mar 25, 2010 This a replacment for my LG $300 cell phone that disintegrated in less than one year of use.
It does the basic job of a phone at one sixth the cost. Clear speaker and microphone.
Easy to set up.

Good phone for the price Oct 13, 2009 I bought this for a monthlong trip to Europe, and it did everything I needed it to. I bought a SIM card separately (the "free" SIM card you can get with it is a ripoff to use). Basic texting and calling were very easy and straightforward.

Less Sturdy Than It Looks Jul 24, 2009 I bought this phone to replace a different model of Motorola phone I had owned less than a year that had developed a cracked hinge. Amazingly, this one's hinge also cracked -- in less than a month of use, though I did nothing unusual to it. Otherwise it was a satisfactory phone, but now I am afraid to open it fully. This is definitely the last Motorola phone I am buying.

Neat, unlocked, long-life batt, no-frills cellphone with no contract! Jul 18, 2009
I dropped my cell in the tub, and "rice-drying" method didn't help.
Wanted a simple, working, UNLOCKED no-contract replacement.
I am amazed at the simplicity yet power of this reliable phone!
Battery is also amazing, I only charged it once a week (stand-by, or at 3-days interval afret heavy use!
Amazon and its partners really rock!
