8 pairs later Sep 09, 2010 I've bought a about 8 of these, main reason is the cord is rope like and they are cheap and could be easily replaced. The headphones never lasted over 4-5months on average. One pair lasted me almost a year, luck pair I think. I use headphones about 4 hours a day almost everyday. These don't last heavy use. They should also come with a case because the main flaw is the cords inside rip and the sound goes out in one ear. It's usually at the stem and I usually put tape around that area to keep it from moving a lot. I would have given this product 3 stars but there is a major issue with them...they don't work with iPhones!!! I've bought two pairs, neither of the pair's mics worked, nor the button. It only works with my laptop. So if you are buying these to use with your iPhone...think twice.
Excellent sound quality Aug 19, 2010 Have been looking for replacements for my standard Iphone earbuds for a while... Tried another brand a couple of years ago at MacWorld... quality control was not there.
This product is well made and is standing up to the harsh work environment I am sometimes in.
Thanks.
1000x better than standard Apple earbuds Aug 17, 2010 I'm constantly surprised by the negative reviews these receive. I've used them with my iPhone 3G for about 18 months now and think they are great. If you are an audiophile then look elsewhere, but if you are an average user looking for something to use to listen to music and/or take calls when working at your desk, traveling, at the gym, going for a walk, etc... then these are perfect. The sound quality is at least as good as the factory Apple earbuds if not better. And they have the advantage of three different size soft rubber adapters you can use to get a proper fit in your ear (something I was never able to achieve with the Apple earbuds). On a recent trip my wife saw that I had these and she liked them so much that I will probably be buying her a pair.
Bad design, poor longevity Aug 15, 2010 Several design flaws, including sound contamination from the line wrapping, and the fact that the little button on the left ear catches, snags on collared shirts and pulls the headphones out of your ear because it is not smooth. But perhaps most critical, only lasted about 6 mos of moderate to light use before the weak spot at the jack became damaged.
2 sets broke quickly Aug 09, 2010 They shorted where the cord connects to the plug in less than a month after purchase, causing one of the ear buds to not work. Griffin replaced my set for free with another. The new one again shorted within 3 weeks, and this time I was very careful with the cord...evidently, from my experience and other reviews, it's a faulty product. Too bad, because they sound good when working.
