This watch helped me survive sharks and pretty girls Jul 21, 2010 I bought this watch on sale years ago for normal daily wear. I thought it looked rugged, but I had no idea just how rugged it truly was until I took up SCUBA diving. It survived life banging around boats for weeks on end as I literally traveled around the world. I wore it on hundreds of SCUBA dives up to 140 feet below the surface. Whether getting me get back to the surface before my air ran out or getting me to a sidewalk cafe before a blind date ran out this watch was always there for me. My Casio G-Shock never stopped running, it never leaked and never it let me down. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Casio DW5600E-1V G-Shock Classic Jul 20, 2010 I am a fan of this watch. The beauty of this watch is that it is as utilitarian as a hammer and just as indestructible. I bought one for myself and another for my father as a gift. Mine has been covered in paint, gone diving in salt water, and gone skiing and camping in tough conditions. It is routinely used while I run and ends up dripping in sweat. Over nearly 1.5 years of this activity level and there is not even a mark on the plastic band. My dad is finding out the same thing after destroying his past two watches due to inadvertent impacts or water intrusion. I have owned a couple of Timex Ironman models and this watch is much more robustly constructed. Very simple and easy to read interface, controls are intuitive. You can throw the instructions away. The Amazon price is great, as well, compared to other websites or retail outlets near me (Chicagoland area).
This watch is not cool, it is not fancy, and it has zero "bling". I don't know if that makes me like it even more. I am a watch collector, and have a number of very nice swiss timepieces in my collection. However, the Casio ends up being on my wrist more than any of my other watches, even for work functions or places where I am typically dressed up. I think the Casio is so anti-fashion that it actually makes a fashion statement.

Brad, RI Jul 18, 2010 This is now in the landfill.
It was a piece of junk of no value.casio watch
The manufacturer should be ashamed to produce such junk, as should
you for selling it.

simple, effective, operational, awesome Jul 18, 2010 Comfortable, effective, bright back light, tough, lightweight, low profile (doesn't get caught), easy to press buttons with tip of figure (even with mtn biking gloves.)
Cool functionality with the dual locations on the display for the time when other functions are in use (where the date appears normally.)
Honestly, its just a solid retro styled digital watch with proven functionality and an elegant implementation. Worth the price here on Amazon.
The Best Jul 15, 2010 I bought this watch from Amazon about 6 months ago. I am a VERY tough to please customer; I give this watch 5 stars. I do have some minor issues with it, but none that would keep it from the 5 stars. I have wore this watch nonstop for the 6 months I have had it. Yeah, I know that sounds kinda nasty, but once you have this watch you will understand. It has held up to clunks, wacks, temperature fluctuations, swimming, hiking, everyday work, animal bites, and on an on. I don't know how, but there is not a scratch on this watch...it "almost" looks like the day I got it. The only thing I have noticed is some very slight speckling/color change on the bottom of the band (this might have been from the chlorine-my bad). The only other issues I have are these: the buttons are not the easiest to push-takes some practice. And finally, I was a bit disappointed to see "Made in China" on the back of the watch...it's not like I was expecting to see "Made in the USA", but was maybe hoping for a "Made in Japan." One final note, I was worried about the size of the watch, as I have smaller size wrists-no problem with that. Looks really good.
