4Order almost right  Aug 29, 2010
Its not all med points. There are 10 med points & 2 fine points. But the pens themselves work fine.

1came broken - due to shipping? And was the fine point pen!  Jun 10, 2010
Ordered it from Amazon. It came in a soft envelope - when opened the pen did not work. It looked a little squished. And it was the red one - the fine point pen, which I did not order.

5Hey, I've still got one of these things from elementary school!  Jan 07, 2010
It must have been traded back and forth for 10 years before I eventually lost track of it (probably in a box around here somewhere). Maybe I should either dig it out, or just buy a new one.

A lot of these multi-function things tend to die a mechanical death. Ours was definitely "clicked" more times than it was used for writing, so the internal mechanism in this one must be pretty good.

I also like it when, after so many years, a lost item can be replaced with the same thing. I hate to see things changed or discontinued when there is nothing wrong with them. I actually ran into this 4-color BIC while searching for an old PaperMate which is apparently not available.

4Fine-point blue ink ruins the perfection  Dec 29, 2009
My package comes with 4 orange-barrel fine-point pens. While the blue barreled medium point pens are perfectly smooth, the fine points are not. The worst of all, the recently manufactured (10/2009) blue color ink on the fine point pen does not write, no matter what sorts of the "fix-it-yourself" techniques I have tried (dipped in the warm water, bowed the air into the tube, whipped the pen, drew the lines rapidly, rotated the angle while writing, etc).

It seems that the fine-medium assortment is random. You cannot be sure about the combination until you open the package. If Amazon can offter the medium point pens only, that would be perfect.

5Classic 4 Color Pen - Highly Recommended  Sep 15, 2009
The Bic 4 Color Pen is still best of its type. This basic design has been around since I was in school (a long time ago) and it still works great today. I like the blue barreled medium tip models best.

The four colors (Black, Red, Green, and Blue) are individually selected by pushing down the appropriate color plunger on the barrel of the around the pocket clip. A new color can be selected by pressing different plunger or the existing color can be retracted by partially depressing any of the others. On rare occasion, I have had it slightly jam using an adjacent color, so just use the opposite and it works all of the time.

We use these in our shop to mark production sheets and use the colors to indicate priority. Our kids use them for homework and graphing where multiple colors are needed to indicate different data sets.

These work great and are very useful - Highly Recommended!
